WC 19th October

This week Toucans have had a fun week learning about Harvest and Halloween.                       
We had a lovely trip to the allotments at Summerhill and we looked at the different vegetables and pumpkins and we pulled some out of the ground and took them back to school.  We also enjoyed visiting Summerhill park. We also had lots of fun listening to Halloween stories and rhymes, completing crafts and looking at the different animals in the creepy crawly roadshow. We loved getting messing in the Halloween sensory activity in the hall.  Happy half term! 
 

 

WC 12th October

This week we have been learning about Autumn. We went on a lovely Autumn walk around Ward Jackson park and we collected leaves and played in the park.                                              We listened to the story 'The little red hen' and explored the props. We painted red hens and made hen masks and learnt the Makaton signs for the characters in the story. We loved watching the eggs being smashed in Attention time. 
 

 

 

WC 28th September & 5th October

Toucans have really enjoyed listening to the story Supertato and taking part in lots of different activities. We explored the props from the story, got dressed up as superhero's, tasted foods from the story, looked for evil pea hiding in the jelly, printed with potato's and made some creative Supertato crafts which all helped develop our fine motor skills.                                         On our bus day we visited Seaton park and we went to home bargains to buy some vegetables and we looked at the Halloween decorations. 

 

 

 

WC 21st September

We have made some creative salt dough worms this week and lovely Superworm pictures.  
In Maths we enjoyed listening and watching the rhyme '5 little worms on the garden wall'.  We counted the worms and found the corresponding number. We explored the soil to see how many worms we could find and we washed and dried the worms. 
We had a lovely visit to the Headland park to develop our social skills. 

 

 

 

WC 14th September

We have continued listening to the story 'Superworm' and have learned the Makaton signs for the key vocabulary. We were able to identify some of the props and we loved making our own superworms from pipe cleaners and cereal. 
We enjoyed our rebound and swimming sessions. 

 

 

WC 7th September

Toucans have enjoyed settling into their new class and getting to know their peers and new staff.  

This week we have enjoyed attention time and messy maths.  We have also listened to the story 'Superworm' and explored the props and painted worms. We have also had fun developing our gross motor skills outside and in the soft play.
